OKLAHOMA CITY – The Mid-America Christian softball team closed out a very successful appearance on the final day at the Red Dirt Classic on Saturday by picking up a pair of wins over Bethel and Oklahoma Wesleyan. The Evangels defeated the Threshers 8-1 while holding off an Eagles rally for a 5-4 victory.

• By picking up the win, Mid-America Christian and Oklahoma Wesleyan have split the all-time series at 10 apiece since the 2004 season.

• By allowing just one unearned run over the final two innings, Adrienne Phillips became the NAIA leader in saves with her third of the season.

• Competing in the Red Dirt Classic for the third straight year, the Evangels boasted their best outing at the tournament by going 3-1.
