TOP PERFORMERS GAME NOTES
  • Mid-America Christian scored its nine runs on four hits and committed an error while Trinity Baptist pushed across its four runs on seven hits and made a pair of miscues.
  • The Evangels pushed across four runs in the bottom of the first. After Cailey Parsells and Mikaylee Allen reached on a single and a walk, Kassie Martin drove in Parsells on a double to left-center field gap before Allen came across on Janessa Larman's single to center to make it a 2-0 game. Two more came across later in the inning when Brooklyn Wilson hit a laser to center that popped out of the glove of the center fielder, allowing Martin and Larman to score to make it a 4-0 game.
  • Trinity Baptist pushed across three in the top of the third when four straight batters reached on a triple, a single, a hit-by-pitch and another single before Tiyahnna Hopkins scored on a wild pitch to close it to a 4-3 game.
  • The Evangels put together a major threat in the bottom of the third by loading the bases with one out, but Simmons was able to induce back-to-back pop-ups off the bats of Emylee Campbell and Megan Widener to get out of the inning.
  • MACU was able to piece together another four-run inning in the fourth. Parsells led off the frame with a hit-by-pitch, stole second and then came around to score after Allen reached on a fielding error by the second baseman. Allen then stole second and third before coming across to score on Larman's sacrifice fly to center to bring the score to 6-3. The Evangels followed by having four straight batters reach on a walk as Campbell and Megan Widener each notched bases-loaded RBI walks to stretch the edge to 8-3.
  • The Evangels ran into some trouble in the top of the fifth when the first two batters reached on single and a walk and the two runners advanced to second and third with only one out, but MACU starting pitcher Avery Schneringer only allowed an RBI SAC fly to Katie Goodin to trim the Evangels' edge to 8-4.
  • MACU got the run back in the bottom of the sixth when Campbell drove a full-count, two-out solo blast over the left-center field fence for her second home run of the season.
  • Schneringer earned her 15th win in the circle after tossing a complete game, allowing four earned runs on seven hits with three walks and six strikeouts.
  • Mid-America Christian improved to 2-0 all-time against Trinity Baptist after defeating the Eagles 7-0 in last season's NCCAA World Series in Easley, S.C. on May 18, 2021.

  • Rachel Eggleston notched her 17th win of the season in the circle after allowing three earned runs on 11 hits with only one walk and four strikeouts. By Eggleston getting the victory, she became just the third pitcher in program history to record 17 or more wins in the circle, joining Regan Martin last season for the second-most wins.
  • Eggleston's four strikeouts also allowed her to surpass Caitlyn Ulmer for the fifth-most single-season strikeouts at 117. She now sits just four back of Kelsie Wolf (121, 2014) for the fourth-most in the MACU record book.

  • Larman's three-run rocket shot to center also allowed her to climb up the program's single-season record book as her seventh home run of the season moved her into a four-way tie for the fifth-most hit in a single-season while her 40 RBIs also hits in a tie for the seventh-most in one year.
