Leon also tallied a team-high four runs and a pair of RBIs to go with two runs scored.
  • Junior left fielder Andrew Enwiya also tied a single-game record for the Evangels. By drawing four walks, Enwiya moved into a nine-way tie for the program mark, joining teammate Julian Fernandez who drew four free passes against Southwestern Christian on Mar. 18.

TOP PERFORMERS GAME NOTES
  • College of the Ozarks scored its four runs on 10 hits with two errors while the Evangels scored their three runs on six hits and committed a pair of errors as well.
  • The Bobcats scored two of their runs in the early going as a leadoff single to short preceded a one-out RBI double down the lf line by Spencer Greene. Cal Johnson added to it in the next at-bat with an RBI single to left-center, but MACU starter Luuk ter Beek was able to limit the damage after inducing a 4-6-3 double play.
  • While Mid-America Christian struggled to get the bats going, the Evangels were finally able to cash in with some small ball. After Austin Wood led off the inning with a single, an Andres Gonzalez SAC bunt and Caden Harris flyout advanced Wood to third before Isaiah Leon's infield single plated MACU's first run, closing it to a 2-1 game.
  • The Evangels were unable to generate any more offense until the top of the ninth inning when Andrew Enwiya reached second on a misplayed and dropped fly ball by the right fielder. After pinch-runner Payton Walk trotted down to third on German Sepulveda's groundout to second, Yan Ely Adames drove in the tying run by beating out an infield single to short with a slide into first, making it a 2-2 game.
  • In the top of the 11th, MACU took its only lead. Following back-to-back one-out singles, pinch-runners Christian Guevara and Julian Martinez forced a rundown between first and second, which allowed Martinez to break toward home and beat the throw to make a 3-2 MACU advantage.
  • Despite gaining the edge, the Evangels were unable to hang onto it as a Ryan Daggs leadoff double allowed him to score two batters later on a Cal Johnson SAC fly. After a single and walk loaded the bases, MACU closer Kelton Lachelt accidentally spiked his first pitch to next batter, allowing Spencer Greene to beat out Adames' throw to Lachelt at home to end the game on a walk-off.
  • With the loss, Mid-America Christian was eliminated from NCCAA World Series play.
  • Despite not getting the decision, Luuk ter Beek put together his most outstanding start of the season. Ter Beek only allowed two earned runs in the first inning while throwing seven straight scoreless frames, allowing only seven hits and one walk to go with five strikeouts.
  • The Evangels defensively pitched nine straight scoreless frames between the second and 10th innings.
  • In his final game with the Evangels, Yan Ely Adames led the MACU bats by going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a walk. Austin Wood was the only other Evangels batter to tally multiple hits, finishing 2-for-5 with a run scored.
  • Isaiah Leon continued his torrid pace in the tournament by tallying MACU's only other RBI, finishing the game 1-for-5 with his run-producing single.
  • MACU came up on the short end in its first ever meeting with College of the Ozarks.
  • Mid-America Christian wrapped up a very successful 2022 season that saw the team boast its best record in the NAIA Era (2008-present).
