TOP PERFORMERS GAME NOTES
  • Texas Wesleyan scored its 12 runs on 13 hits while the Evangels pushed across their 10 runs on 12 hits and committed one error.
  • After being out of the lineup for the last two weeks due to injury, the Evangels received strong production from their top bat in Andrew Enwiya, as the senior left fielder went 3-for-5 with a double, a homer, an RBI and two runs scored.
  • Senior catcher Yan Ely Adames had a stellar day from the plate as well, going 3-for-4 with a double, a home run, three RBIs, a run and a walk drawn.
  • Senior second baseman Andres Gonzalez also put together one of his most productive offensive performances of the season, batting 1-for-2 with three RBIs, a run and a pair of walks.
  • The MACU pitching staff struggled to slow down the red-hot Rams bats as the first four MACU pitchers allowed 12 runs, 11 earned on 13 hits with two walks and six strikeouts over 7.1 innings. Kelton Lachelt suffered the loss, falling to 7-4 after allowing two earned runs on a hit and hit-by-pitch in one-third of an inning.
  • Despite the pitching woes, MACU got a strong relief appearance from Chase Zienin, who didn't allow a single hit, walk or run while striking out three over 1.2 innings of work.
  • Mid-America Christian continued to have tough luck against the Rams, as Texas Wesleyan has defeated MACU four times this season and the Evangels losing streak to TWU swelled to 10 games.
UP NEXT
  • Mid-America Christian will now face an elimination game on Saturday as the Evangels will take on Oklahoma Panhandle State at 11 a.m. inside Jim Wade Stadium.
