HASTINGS, Neb. – The Mid-America Christian volleyball team put together a pair of stellar defensive performances to come away with a pair of three-set sweeps over York (Neb.) and Presentation (S.D) on the final day of the Hastings College Classic on Saturday.

- Mid-America Christian nearly doubled the kills production to York as the Evangels registered 40 kills to only 21 for the Panthers. While MACU could also only muster a .198 attack percentage, the Evangels defensively frustrated YU, holding the Panthers to a -.022 attack percentage. It was the first time MACU held a team to a negative hitting clip since notching back-to-back matches on Sept. 4, 2021 against Jarvis Christian (-.010) and Centenary (-.122).
- Cloie Mitchell led the MACU attack with her first double-digit kills match of the season with 10.
- Lena Stockhammer narrowly missed a double-double with 15 assists and nine kills on a .364 attack percentage to go four digs and a pair of blocks.
- Vanessa Moreira also provided a spark both offensively and defensively, tallying nine kills on a .533 clip to go with five digs, four blocks and a pair of aces.
- Casady McKinney led the passing efforts with 17 assists along with six digs and three aces while Marlee Hunter led the Evangels back line with nine digs.
- Playing each other for the first time since 2006, the Evangels picked up their first ever win over the Panthers.

- After coming off a win over Kansas Wesleyan earlier in the day, the Evangels managed to hold Presentation to only 34 kills and forced 23 attack errors for a .113 hitting percentage while MACU notched its 35 kills on a .218 clip.
- Lena Stockhammer led the Evangels with a double-double, putting across a team-high 11 kills on a .400 attack percentage while also dishing out a team-high 14 assists to go with five digs in the defense.
- For the fourth straight match in the tournament, Miriam Nardi hit above .333 offensively, recording eight kills on a .429 attack percentage to go with four total blocks. In the four matches this weekend, Nardi recorded 44 kills on a .473 attack percentage.
- Marlee Hunter finished with double-digit digs with 11 while Casady McKinney tallied 11 assists.

- Mid-America Christian's packed non-conference schedule returns home on Wednesday, Aug. 31 as the Evangels will host a tri-match against Oklahoma Wesleyan and Southwestern (Kan.). MACU will be re-matched against the Eagles at 3 p.m. before wrapping up with a 7 p.m. match against the Moundbuilders.
