TOP PERFORMERS MATCH SUMMARY
  • Set One
    • Langston kept it close through the first 13 rallies, including going on a 3-1 run that was capped off on a kill by LU's Ashaqwaye Thomas.
    • Mid-America Christian spun the momentum in its favor after Lauryn Walters snuck a right-side tapper over the Lady Lions block for a side-out kill, igniting a 6-2 run as the Evangels took a 13-8 lead midway through the set.
    • Even though a Ludmilla Souza service error gave serve back to Langston, the Evangels rebounded with an 11-3 streak as a Casady McKinney ace brought it to set point at 24-12.
    • Langston did manage to get back-to-back points to hold off MACU's win before a block at the net by Annabeth Fehrle and Lena Stockhammer secured the 25-14 victory.
  • Set Two
    • MACU managed to build out a 10-5 lead on back-to-back kills by Sawyer Franz and Kaylee Harrison followed by a Karma Williams attack error, but the Lady Lions fought back by scoring five of the next seven to take it a 12-10 game.
    • An assisted block by Sarah Jones and Faith Foutch ignited a nearly unstoppable MACU run as the Evangels rattled off 11 unanswered points as Stockhammer's cross-court shot from the left side to right make it a 23-10 score.
    • Langston did score three of the next four points, but a LU service error on set point wrapped up the 25-13 final.
  • Set Three
    • Langston was able to keep it to within striking distance in the early going after kills by Braelyn Spence and Karma Williams during a 2-1 run clawed it back to an 8-5 match following a three-unanswered MACU streak.
    • A side-out kill by Lena Stockhammer set the tone for the rest of the match as a Walters ace ended a 10-straight run to make it 18-5.
    • A Spence side-out kill did little to stop MACU's momentum as the Evangels closed out the set by scoring seven of the last nine to seal the 25-8 victory.
