OKLAHOMA CITY – The No. 12 MACU Men's Soccer team will play host to Sooner Athletic Conference rival John Brown in a match that will have massive league championship implications as the two teams will square off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

      • 6-1-2 W-L, 1.02 GAA, 18 Saves, .667 SV%, 2 SHO, 1 CBO
  • Team Notes:
    • Mid-America Christian came out and played some inspired soccer in its Senior Night match against Central Christian on Saturday as the Evangels netted a season-high seven goals to pull out a dominant 4-0 victory over the Tigers.
    • Overall, four different Evangels found the back of the net as seniors Pietro Musso and Uviwe Qasha each found the back of the net while junior forward Mario Garcia scored his second goal and junior forward Carlos Lobo tallied his first career Evangels score.
    • So far through three SAC matches this season, the Evangels have been far more efficient on the offensive end as MACU is outscoring its opposition 9-2, averaging 3.0 goals per game. The offensive surge comes following a battle-tested non-conference slate as MACU averaged only 1.6 goals per game, but was still able to ride its elite defense to a 5-1-2 record.
    • Two of the top three teams defensively will be going head-to-head on Tuesday as John Brown and MACU are tied for second in the league in goals allowed average at 1.00.

      • 3-0-1 W-L, 0.59 GAA, 12 Saves, .800 SV%, 2 SHO
  • Team Notes:
    • John Brown continued its heavy goal-scoring streak in its start to SAC play on Saturday as the Golden Eagles cruised to a 3-1 win over Science & Arts at Alumni Field in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Erick Diaz, Marcos Miranda and Jose Almanza each found the back of the net for JBU in the victory.
    • Much like the Evangels, the Golden Eagles have also found their offensive stride since beginning league competition, outscoring its opposition 12-5 through three league contests.
    • The overall balanced JBU lineup is led offensively by freshman forward Alejandro Gallardo, who has netted six goals to go with five assists for 17 points while a highly-experienced forward in Erick Diaz is one of the leaders in the SAC in assists with six to go with three goals for 12 points.
    • On the defensive side, JBU has been evenly splitting time between redshirt sophomore Adam Tebbs and senior Kyle Hix. With both keepers playing six games apiece, Tebbs has been the slightly more effective keeper, allowing just 0.59 goals per game with an .800 save percentage. However, Hix was just named the SAC Defensive Player of the Week after allowing just one goal for an .800 save percentage in a 3-1 win over Science & Arts.
    • Even though JBU does own the lead in the all-time series between the two programs, Mid-America Christian has had the Golden Eagles' number over the last six seasons as MACU is currently on an eight-match winning streak. However, their last meeting in Siloam Springs last season was a barn-burner as the result came down to Pietro Musso making a brilliant long distance strike in the 59th minute while Claudio Fuentealba came up with seven massive saves as the Evangels came away with the hard-fought 1-0 road win.
