No. 24 Women’s Basketball Welcomes SAC Newcomer College of the Ozarks to Gaulke on Saturday

OKLAHOMA CITY – The No. 24 MACU Women's Basketball team will be facing off against the newest addition to the Sooner Athletic Conference on Saturday as the Evangels face off against College of the Ozarks at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

    • Mid-America Christian continued its trend of incredible fourth quarter play on Thursday night in its win at John Brown as the Evangels rallied from a 10-point third quarter deficit before outscoring the Golden Eagles 21-10 in the fourth quarter to pull away with the 71-62 victory.
    • While MACU has outscored its opponents by 146 points (18.3 ppg), the Evangels have been most effective in the fourth quarter, as MACU holds a 158-110 scoring advantage in that period.
    • The Evangels continued the trend of utilizing offensive rebounds to its advantage as MACU out-rebounded JBU 43-27 with a 16-2 edge on the offensive glass, resulting in an astounding 23-0 margin in second chance scoring.
    • After scoring just 33 points (5.5 ppg) on just 36.7 percent shooting through the first six games, junior forward Harley Harbour has been establishing herself on the offensive end this week. Between the win over Central Christian on Monday and JBU on Thursday, Harbour has scored 34 points (17.0 ppg) on 56.0 percent shooting while also averaging 12.0 rebounds per contest during this two-game stretch.

    • College of the Ozarks since suffering a 68-59 loss at John Brown to open its SAC slate has bounced back with a pair of wins, getting a 60-59 victory at Oklahoma City on Monday before returning home for a 66-48 win over Southwestern Christian on Thursday.
    • The Bobcats come into the contest ranked in the middle of the pack in the SAC in scoring, averaging the seventh-most points (66.3 ppg), but have struggled from the field, shooting just the 10th-best percentage (38.4) and free throw percentage (62.9), but are posting the league's fifth-best three-point percentage (32.3).
    • While MACU comes into the contest as the 20th-ranked rebounding team in the NAIA, the Evangels will need to look to neutralize junior forward Susana Moran, who enters the weekend as the SAC's leading rebounder at 13.7 rpg while also being a solid scorer as well, averaging a double-double with a team-best 14.9 ppg. Junior guard Logan Jones is COFO's second-most dangerous scoring threat, averaging 14.7 ppg.
    • Mid-America Christian will be seeking its first ever win against College of the Ozarks as the Bobcats have won the four previous meetings between the two squads. The last time the two teams met came back on Nov. 17, 2017 as COFO came away with an 83-73 win inside Keeter Gymnasium.
