GAME NOTES
  • Overall, Mid-America Christian had good day from the floor in shooting 35-for-75 (46.7 percent), which included 6-for-24 (25 percent) from beyond the arc. The Evangels finished the afternoon at the charity stripe by shooting 21-for-24 (87.5 percent).
  • The Trailblazers finished the contest by shooting 27-for-69 (39.1 percent) from the field while going 5-of-20 (25 percent) from behind the three-point line. UNT Dallas ended the afternoon going 15-for-17 (88.2 percent) from the foul line.
  • The Evangels took care of the glass Saturday afternoon as they outrebounded the Trailblazers 50-36 with 19 of those on the offensive end. MACU used its rebounding numbers to score 56 points in the paint.
  • Being one of two players to lead the MACU scoring efforts with 16 points, Christopher joined some elite company with her final bucket as she became just the fourth Evangels player since the program joined the NAIA in 2007 to eclipse 1000 career points. Christopher now needs just 15 points to eclipse Sarai Rodriguez (2015-17) for third in MACU's NAIA Era career record book.
  • One of three MACU seniors honored, forward Karley Miller put together a stellar game for the Evangels, notching her second double-double in the last three games after scoring 16 points on 6-of-14 shooting, including going 4-for-8 from three to go with a game-high 10 rebounds.
  • The three other Evangels to crack double-digits were Jaci Calavan with 14 points and seven rebounds, Sydney Savage with 13 points, six boards and a pair of blocked shots while Ashley Hopper chipped in 11 points.
  • The Evangels bench was outstanding in the contest as they accounted for 44 points while Mia Smith finished the day with six of the Evangels 15 assists.
  • After today's victory, the Evangels now hold a 6-0 advantage in the all-time series that started back in 2022.
  • Today's victory over Trailblazers is MACU's 10th consecutive win and keeps the Evangels in fourth place in the SAC and they now trail Wayland Baptist for third place by a single game with two games remaining in the regular season.
  • Excluding the COVID-19 shortened 2020-21 season where MACU played just 12 games, Mid-America Christian has now reached 20-plus wins in seven consecutive seasons.
  • After the contest, the Evangels honored their three graduating seniors: Jaci Calavan, Karley Miller and Hallie Reed as well as La'Deria Lorne from the varsity reserve team.
UP NEXT
  • Mid-America Christian will now prepare for its final home game of the regular season on Thursday, Feb. 22 as the Evangels will host Oklahoma City for a 6 p.m. tip-off inside the Gaulke Activity Center.
