GAME NOTES
- Mid-America Christian scored its three runs on four hits and committed four errors while Southwestern Assemblies of God tallied its two runs on three hits and made one miscue.
- The Evangels pushed across the first run of the game on the very first at-bat. On the play, Hallie Wilson hit a scorching grounder into right field that the outfielder misplayed running up on ball, rolling all the way to the wall and allowing the speedy Wilson to score.
- In the top of the second, SAGU put together a major threat when a pair of Evangels errors put runners at first and second with only one out. However, MACU starting pitcher Avery Schneringer quickly shut down the potential rally by striking out the next two batters to keep it to a 1-0 game.
- In the top of the third, the Lions finally found a run when Sasha Jennings led off the frame by reaching on a fielding error at third base. After being moved over to second on a sac bunt, Trista Ford drove in the tying run by cranking a double to right that just barely got over Hallie Wilson's outstretched glove.
- MACU had a great chance at scoring the go-ahead run again in the fourth after loading the bases on Karlee Danielson's single, Kenzee Danielson's hit-by-pitch and Stormy Haynes' walk with two outs. However, SAGU ace Natalie Zamora managed to get Hallie Wilson to strike out in the very next at-bat to keep it a tie ballgame.
- In the fifth, the Lions found the go-ahead run with the top of the order doing the damage once again. After Jennings drew a leadoff walk, she was moved over to second on a sacrifice and got down to third on a passed ball before Ford brought her in on a sacrifice fly to left, setting the score to 2-1.
- It was in the bottom of the fifth that MACU got all the runs it would need for the win. Following Brooklyn Wilson's one-out double to left, Kisbel Vizcaya put the Evangels in-front two batters later by cranking a two-run homer over the center field wall to make it a 3-2 game.
- The Lions put together one last late charge in the top of the seventh when Jennings reached on a two-out infield single to short and Valerie Guzman slapped a single to put the tying run in scoring position with SAGU's best bat coming to the plate. However, Schneringer abruptly ended the contest by getting Ford to pop out to Kenzee Danielson at second to end the contest.
- Schneringer earned her second win of the season with her first complete game of the 2024 campaign, throwing all seven innings and allowing just two unearned runs on three hits with a walk and six strikeouts.
- Kisbel Vizcaya notched MACU's first home run of the season that left the yard, leading the batting efforts at 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a run.
- Brooklyn Wilson finished 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Her 26th career two-bagger already moved her into the program's top 10 record book as she now sits in a five-way tie for eighth with Katie Gracey (2014-17), Tiphani Napier (2016-17), Taryn Callender (2014-17) and Janessa Larman (2022-23).
- Hallie Wilson also continued to stay hot from the plate by slashing 1-for-2 with a run scored.

GAME NOTES
- The Evangels scored their two runs on six hits and committed one error while the Lions scored their lone run on nine hits and made a trio of miscues.
- Southwestern Assemblies of God scored its only run of the game in the top of the second when Jennings reached on an infield single and was sacrificed to third on back-to-back bunts before a misplayed grounder allowed her to score two outs, making it a 1-0 score.
- The Lions put together a pair of major threats in both the second and the fourth. In the second, SAGU got back-to-back singles before Rachel Eggleston put a stop to it with back-to-back strikeouts before Jennings lined out to left to end the inning.
- In the fourth, the Lions threat was even more potent as three consecutive singles loaded the bases with no outs. However, the poised Eggleston did not panic as she struck out back-to-back batters once again before Jennings flew out to left again to keep it to a 1-0 game.
- The bottom of the sixth turned out to be a roller coaster of an inning for the Evangels that ultimately resulted in the tying run. After Campbell started off the frame with a single and a steal of second, Morgan Fowble punched a grounder through the left side. However, as Campbell tried to score from second on the play, SAGU's left fielder Avery Coleman made a sensational throw home to get Campbell out at the plate to keep the Lions in the lead.
- However, after Vizcaya drew a walk to put runners at second with one out, Ford misplayed a grounder to third that allowed MACU pinch runner Taela Hubbard to score from second on the play, drawing the game even at 1-1.
- After being forced into extras, the Evangels first great chance to get the walk-off came in the bottom of the eighth when Campbell notched her second hit of the game on a lead-off single through the hole at short and utilized some heads up baserunning by advancing to second on an errant throw to the cutoff by Coleman. However, SAGU neutralized the threat when Ford made a sensational stab on a liner off Fowble's bat, doubling off Campbell at second for the double play.
- Mid-America Christian finally found its walk-off answer in the bottom of the ninth. Hallie Wilson led off the frame getting pegged by a pitch before Talyn Wheeler put runners at the corners on a sacrifice bunt that saw her reach safely on a muffed throw by the first baseman. Wheeler managed to steal second on Stormy Haynes' strikeout, setting up the strategy of intentionally walking Brooklyn Wilson to load the bases to create a force out at any base situation. However, the strategy ultimately did not pay off as Campbell lifted a fly ball to right field that brought in Hallie Wilson on the sacrifice fly, wrapping up the 2-1 final.
- Eggleston returned to form with her sensational outing, allowing just one unearned run on nine hits with no walks while striking out a season-high eight batters.
- Of MACU's six hits, Campbell was the only Evangel to finish with multiple knocks, slashing 2-for-3 with MACU's only RBI of the game.
- The run scored by Taela Hubbard in the sixth was the first of her MACU career.
- By getting the victory, the Evangels claimed the series win from SAGU 3-1 while improving to 37-13 all-time against the Lions.
