GAME NOTES
  • Tabor scored its nine runs on 13 hits and committed an error while Mid-America Christian scored its five runs on 13 hits.
  • The Evangels pushed across the first run after Anthony Hampton led off the first inning with a walk before advancing to second on a wild pitch before scoring on Noel McGarry-Doyle single through the left side. MACU did threaten to score more runs after Kyle Williams reached on a single to right, but Tabor starting pitcher got out of the jam by getting Carlos Medina to ground into a 5-4-3 double play.
  • In the bottom of the third, MACU put together its biggest scoring inning by pushing across four in the frame. The first three Evangels reached on Joel Nieves' lead-off single, Hampton's single to third and D'Andre Gaines hammered a double to left-center to score Nieves. McGarry-Doyle chopped an RBI grounder to second before Gaines came across on a wild pitch. Medina wrapped up the scoring onslaught by bashing a solo homer down the left field line to make it a 5-0 game.
  • Tabor scored its first run in the top of the fifth after loading the bases with just one out with Tyler Mata Lloyd hit a sac fly to center to bring in Trotter Boston. However, MACU reliever Zane Robeaux was able to limit the damage to just that one run to hold the 5-1 advantage.
  • Just like the Evangels in the second inning, Tabor put together a massive four-run frame in the top of the sixth, tying the game up at 5-5 on Isaiah Cohens RBI double down the left field line.
  • With the two teams deadlocked over the next three innings, Tabor found its go-ahead run in the top of the eighth when Trotter Boston smacked an RBI single to center to bring in Aidan Martinez, setting the score to 6-5.
  • The Bluejays added three insurance runs in the top of the ninth to extend their lead to 9-5.
  • The Evangels threatened in the bottom of the ninth by getting a pair of hits and a walk, but the Bluejays defense made some strong plays to keep MACU off-the-board.
  • Cameron Brown put together another great start. Throwing a pre-planned three-inning outing, Brown allowed just one hit and one walk while striking out three and not allowing a single run.
  • Taiga Sakuma continued to stay hot with the bat, finishing the contest 3-for-5 with a double.
  • Noel McGarry-Doyle was MACU's biggest run producer, finishing 1-for-4 with a pair of RBIs.
  • Anthony Hampton was the only Evangel to finish with multiple runs, scoring a pair while reaching base in all five of his plate appearances after batting 2-for-2 with three walks drawn.
  • Carlos Medina bashed his second home run of the season, finishing 2-for-3 for an RBI and a run while also drawing a walk and stealing a base.
  • Kyle Williams also reached base in four of his plate appearances, batting 2-for-3 with a pair of walks while Joel Nieves rounded out MACU's two-hit performers, slashing 2-for-4 with a double and a run.
  • The Evangels lost their fourth-straight game against Tabor while the Bluejays improved to 5-2 in the all-time series dating back to 2019.
