OKLAHOMA CITY – The No. 18 MACU Women's Basketball team will seek to climb the ladder in the SAC standings with a highly anticipated matchup against the Langston Lady Lions inside the Gaulke Activity Center Monday night with a tip-off slated for 6 p.m.

SEASON REPORT
  • Record: 16-2 (12-2 SAC)
  • Last Game: Won vs. Nelson (Texas) – 81-56 – Jan. 18, 2025 – Gaulke Activity Center
  • Stat Leaders:
  • Team Notes:
    • In Saturday's 81-56 win over Nelson, the Lady Lions were unable to overcome MACU's red-hot start as the Evangels outscored Nelson 53-25 in the first haf.
    • Overall, MACU played great in just about every possible aspect with Kylee Scheer steering the ship with a season-high 23 points. She did most of her damage behind the arc, where she drilled a season-high five trios and just missed her MACU career-high of six.
    • The Evangels frontcourt dominated with Harley Harbour picking up her fourth double-double of the year on 15 points and 11 boards. Syncere Harrod had her second consecutive game of 12 or more points tacking on 12 rebounds for her first double-double of the 2024-2025 campaign.
    • With MACU's 81 point outburst, it marked the fourth consecutive game where the offense has scored 77 or more points in a contest.

  • Team Notes:
    • Langston will be entering this matchup on a burner, winning 12 consecutive games with just one loss on the season. A big contributor to that is the strong defensive front, the Lady Lions lead the conference with just 48.6 points allowed per game. On top of allowing just 48.6 points per game, Langston's offense averages 74.1 points per game for a whooping average margin of 25.9 points over opponents.
    • It will be a battle for both teams as they face off for the second time this season. MACU went into the half with a 45-42 lead but got outscored 40-31 the rest of the way. A cold spell in the second half spelled doom for the Evangels in that Nov. 26 contestas Langston went on an 18-2 run over an eight-minute stretch to hold a 69-56 lead with 7:28 to go. MACU made a little bit of a comeback, but LU eventually hung on for the 82-76 win.
    • Both teams are also phenomenal on the boards. While the Evangels own the best rebounding margin in the conference (13.5), Langston is right behind in second at 10.9.
    • A bulk of the Langston scoring comes from Diamond Richardson, Jordan Brown  and Mikayla Woods. The trio all average at least 11 points per game, the Evangels will also be seeking to limit Richardson this time around as she had a season-high 30 points in their last meeting.
    • First place in the Sooner Athletic Conference will be on the line in this matchup as Langston holds a half-game lead over the Evangels entering the contest.
