Women’s Soccer Takes the Road to Face Southwestern Christian

OKLAHOMA CITY – MACU Women's Soccer continues Sooner Athletic Conference play on the road by taking a short trip North, to face conference rivals Southwestern Christian on Saturday afternoon for a 1 pm kickoff.

    • Mid-America Christian recently defeated Nelson on Tuesday afternoon at the Dill Soccer Field, as the Evangels scored three first-half goals to claim all three points.
    • MACU sits joint top of the Sooner Athletic Conference table with eight points, with a 2-0-2 record. The Evangels have played three of the top five teams in conference standings and have come away without a loss thus far.
    • Freshman Liv Houlston has recorded a goal or assist in three consecutive conference games, tallying four goals and a team leading three assists. Brae Baker scored her first conference goal against Nelson, to take her season total to seven, which leads the Evangels.
    • Ariana Solorio has been stellar between the posts for the Evangels, with a 3-1-2 record, making 30 saves, on a .833 save percentage, and allowing six goals against. The Eagles opened conference play with three points against Oklahoma Panhandle State but suffered consecutive defeats after. SCU secured three points on Tuesday afternoon at Wayland Baptist.
    • Abbigail Johnson and Riley Stanfill lead the Eagles in goals with seven. However, SCU has maintained a well-rounded offense with 10 different goal scorers.

Two goals in the first 20 minutes were enough for all three points for the Evangels.
