  • Stat Leaders:
  • Team Notes:
    • Mid-America Christian picked up a massive road win at Southwestern Christian last Saturday as center-back Necsar Rojas scored the game-winning goal off a Josh Macklin free kick with 2:49 remaining to seal the 2-1 victory.
    • By netting the goal and spearheading an outstanding MACU defense that allowed only one goal last week, Rojas was selected as the SAC Defensive Player of the Week.
    • On the opposite side of the field, forward Ryan Jeanfreau earned both the SAC Offensive Player of the Week and the NCCAA Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week, finishing the slate with two goals, including the game-winner in the 3-0 win over Nelson as well as tallied a pair of assists to finish with six total points for the week.
    • The victory allowed MACU to stay in a three-horse race for the SAC Championship as the Evangels sit in a tie for second with Oklahoma City with 11 points (3-0-2) while John Brown owns a one-point lead with 12 (4-1).

  • Team Notes:
    • Since getting a 2-1 win over Nelson on Sept. 27, Central Christian has hit a tough stretch in its schedule, going 1-3-1 in the stretch with the only win coming at home by a 2-0 result over Texas Wesleyan. The Tigers played a non-conference match at Hesston on Tuesday, falling 4-0 to the Larks.
    • CCCK has been challenged on the offensive end this season, ranking last in the SAC in scoring offense at 1.15 goals per game while also having the second-worst scoring defense, allowing 2.38 goals per contest.
    • More than half of the Tigers goals this year have come from the freshman forward duo of Genis Alcaide and Sidney Tippner, both netting four goals on the year. On the defensive side, Central has split time between Nawjot Bhandal and Timothy Foster in-goal, as the pair have combined for a .644 save percentage and have pitched only two shutouts on the season.
    • Since 2006, Mid-America Christian has won 11 of the 13 meetings, owning an 11-1-1 lead in the series while winning the last five meetings. Despite MACU's dominance in the series, Central Christian has played the Evangels tough in the last two meetings in McPherson, with both matches decided by 3-2 and 2-1 results in 2021 and 2023. When the last two teams played at the Dill Soccer Field on Oct. 5, 2024, the Evangels cruised to a 4-0 victory with Pietro Musso, Uviwe Qasha, Mario Garcia, and Carlos Lobo finding the back of the net for MACU. Impressively, the MACU defense did not allow the Tigers to put a single shot on-goal in the entire match.
