Women’s Soccer Travels for Heavyweight Clash vs No. 10 John Brown in NAIA Game of the Week

OKLAHOMA CITY – MACU Women's Soccer takes the road for its penultimate Sooner Athletic Conference match of the regular season, as the Evangels face John Brown in a massive clash of NAIA powerhouses on Saturday evening for a 5 pm kickoff at Alumni Field. The high profile contest is also one of the featured NAIA Games of the Week on the Urban Edge Network.

    • Ariana Solorio has been stellar between the posts for the Evangels, with a 5-2-2 record, making 38 saves, on a .809 save percentage, and allowing nine goals against. Solorio's nine goals against and .809 SV% sees her third in conference standings.

    • Julia Lambert leads the Golden Eagles in scoring and assists, tallying 11 goals, seven assists, and 29 points which puts her second in conference standings in all statistics. Aubrey Winter joins Lambert with seven assists while scoring seven goals totaling 21 points.
    • The Golden Eagles have recorded seven shutouts behind sophomore goalkeeper Marely Fonseca who has a 9-1-2 record, totaling 28 saves on a .848 save percentage. Fonseca's save percentage sees her second in the conference, and five goals against is the fewest in the SAC.
    • The Evangels and Golden Eagles will be facing off for the 21st time as JBU holds a comfortable all-time series record at 17-2-1. However, MACU won in the previous meeting 2-0 on Oct. 8, 2024, at the Dill Soccer Field. This marked JBU's only loss of the conference campaign last season, which snapped a 12-game losing streak for the Evangels against the Golden Eagles.
