Women’s Soccer Set for Massive Home Match against No. 21 Science & Arts

OKLAHOMA CITY – MACU Women's Soccer returns home for its first conference game at the Dill Soccer Field to play host to No. 21 Science & Arts, as the Evangels are looking for revenge to last season's SAC Tournament Semi-Finals match, on Saturday afternoon at 5 pm.

    • Science & Arts sit level on points with MACU at four, opening conference play with a big tie at home vs No. 6 John Brown (Ark.), followed by a dominant 5-0 win against Texas Wesleyan for its first conference win.
    • Ilse De Jong leads the Drovers with seven goals, entering the season as the reigning SAC Player of the Year. She currently sits top of the conference in shots with 46, and top five in goals. De Jong scored a hat trick on the Evangels in their previous meeting in the SAC Tournament semi-finals a year ago.
    • USAO's stout defense has been a strong point for this Drover side, moving up to No. 21 in the latest NAIA polls, starting with junior goalkeeper Ashlyn Lonberg tallying a 5-1-2 record this season. She sits in the top three in SAC standings in saves with 33, save percentage at .802, and .82 goals against average.
    • The Drovers defense sits second in SAC standings with just eight goals against and lead the league in shutouts with seven.
    • The Evangels and Drovers will be facing off for the 24th time as USAO holds the dominant all-time record at 21-2. Science & Arts have knocked off MACU in six consecutive meetings, including both matchups last season in a 2-1 game on Oct. 1, 2024, during the regular season. Along with the commanding 5-0 result in the semi-finals of the SAC Tournament on Nov. 8, 2024.
