SEASON REPORT

  • Stat Leaders:
  • Team Notes:
    • While Mid-America Christian trailed by as much as six in last night's game against Ozark Christian and had a five-point deficit through the first seven minutes of the first half, the Evangels caught fire over the final 13 minutes, outscoring the Ambassadors 45-18 over the remainder of the first half before eventually running away with a dominant 101-61 win.
    • It was a career night for junior forward Morris Williams, who finished with 36 points on 14-of-20 shooting from the field to go with seven rebounds and four assists in the victory. His 14 made field goals tied for the third-most made in a single game during the NAIA Era (2007-present) while the scoring output was the most points dropped by an Evangel since Ashford Golden's 39-point outburst against Science & Arts during MACU's 2019-20 season where it captured the SAC Championship.
    • James Locke and Corey Skillman also provided a massive spark off the Evangels bench, each tallying 17 and 10 points respectively while Locke also finished with seven boards.
    • Through the first two games, the Evangels have shot at an excellent clip, knocking down 50 percent of their tries while also shooting a highly-effective 78.8 percent from the free throw line as a squad.

    • Unofficially, the matchup against MACU will be the second Sooner Athletic Conference foe the Patriots will be facing.
