OKLAHOMA CITY – The MACU Women's Basketball team will play its home-opener Saturday evening on Nov. 1, as the Evangels face Arlington Baptist for a 5 pm tipoff inside the Gaulke Activity Center. Homecoming activities will take place this weekend and the 2016 MACU Men's Basketball team will be honored at halftime of the Women's game for its NAIA National Championship.

SEASON REPORT

  • Last Game: Lost at (RV) Friends (Kan.) – 81-68 – Oct. 25, 2025 – Wichita, Kan.

  • Team Notes:
    • Mid-America Christian enters its home-opener 0-1 on the young season suffering defeat in a competitive road game against Friends. The Evangels held a 39-30 halftime score after a dominating second quarter but were taken over in the second half as the Falcons tightened up defensively.
    • MACU had five players score double figures, including a team high 15 points from Mia Smith, followed by 13 points from Talayah Thomas. The Evangels connected well combining for 15 team assists, as Monique Carter led the way with seven assists.
    • Although the Evangels open the season with a loss, there were glimpses of what this team can achieve with a great first half and an explosive second quarter where MACU shot 11-for-21 from the field equaling 52%, and 3-for-5 from 3pt. However, a 3-for-23 fourth quarter was too inefficient for the Evangels to mount a late comeback in the season-opener.
