Women’s Basketball Hits the Road to Face John Brown, Followed by College of the Ozarks

OKLAHOMA CITY – The MACU Women's Basketball team travels for the final time in the 2025 calendar year as the Evangels head east to face John Brown on Thursday evening tipping off at 6 p.m. in Siloam Springs, Ark. MACU will play College of the Ozarks to follow on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. in Point Lookout, Mo.

    • Mid-America Christian is coming off its biggest win of the season with a win over No. 11 Langston last Tuesday for its first ranked win of the season. The Evangels also took care of business against Central Christian in their last home game to improve to 9-1 on the year.
    • Junior forward Caitlynn Jordan leads the Evangels in scoring and rebounding averaging 13.7 ppg and eight rebounds. Jordan has recorded a team-high four double-doubles this season. Taliah Lee and Mia Smith both tallied double-doubles in the Evangels win over Central Christian last Thursday night. Lee finished with 18 points and 11 boards, while Smith recorded 11 points and a career-high 10 assists.
    • MACU has continued to shoot the ball well throughout the young conference season ranking top three in field goal percentage at 42% and 74 points per game. However, the Evangels dominate the defensive statistics with a conference best 12.5 steals per game and 22.5 opponent turnovers per game. MACU has held opponents to 32% which sits second best in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
    • Mid-America Christian are currently tied at the top of the SAC standings at 4-0 equal with Science & Arts.

    • John Brown enters one game above .500 conference record at 3-2. The Golden Eagles bounced back from a two-game losing streak with an overtime win on the road against Southwestern Christian, 73-67.
    • Sophomore guard Sarah Snodgrass leads the Golden Eagles averaging a double-double with 21.5 points per game and 12.9 rebounds. Snodgrass received NAIA Offensive Player of the Week honors after recording 33 points and 24 rebounds against Oklahoma City, followed by 31 points and 13 rebounds against Southwestern Christian. Both her points per game and rebounds per game lead the Sooner Athletic Conference in those statistical categories.
    • The Golden Eagles sit in the top half in the conference in scoring statistics with 40% FG averaging 66.5 points per game. However, the turnover margin has been an issue for JBU averaging 20 per game, while only forcing 11 opposition turnovers.  
    • The Golden Eagles hold a slight all-time record advantage over the Evangels at 21-19. However, MACU has won two consecutive, including both meetings last year, and the last one coming in a 71-60 Evangel win inside the Gaulke.

    • College of the Ozarks return home after a road trip to Oklahoma City where the Bobcats split 1-1. They suffered an 11-point loss to Southwestern Christian but got a big bounce back win against Oklahoma City in a 73-46 rout to improve to 3-2 in conference play.
    • The Bobcats are led offensively by Junior guard Keara Mattingley who averages a team-high 15.4 points per game and 8.6 rebounds per game. Mattingley recorded her third double-double of the season in the win over the Stars with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
    • College of the Ozarks sit top five in conference standings with 71.7 points per game shooting 38.2% from the field. The Bobcats rank third with 25.5 field goals made per game, but average 5-20 for 25% from behind the arc. COFO's dominance in the paint has earned them a conference high in free throws made at just under 16, while holding a dominant rebounding margin against its opponents at 6.5.
    • The Bobcats hold a 5-1 all-time record against the Evangels. However, the two schools reestablished the matchups last season, after an eight-year hiatus, when College of the Ozarks joined the SAC as the teams split the series, both winning its games at home.
