Women’s Basketball To Dance with Drovers in Final Contest of 2025

OKLAHOMA CITY – The MACU Women's Basketball team returns home for one final game before Christmas break, as the Evangels face Science & Arts on Tuesday evening for a 6 p.m. tipoff inside the Gaulke Activity Center.

    • Mid-America Christian won 10 consecutive games before tasting defeat for just the second time this season, and first time in Sooner Athletic Conference play, as the Evangels lost to College of the Ozarks on the road on Saturday afternoon, to fall to 5-1 in conference play.
    • Junior forward Caitlynn Jordan leads the Evangels in scoring and rebounding averaging 13.7 ppg and eight rebounds. Her eight rebounds a game sits top three in SAC standings. Jordan scored a team-high 19 in the loss to COFO last weekend.
    • Mia Smith is the leading passer with 46 total assists averaging just under four a game. Smith's assist tally sees her second best in the conference, just three back of the top spot.
    • Although MACU averaged its second lowest 3-pt percentage of the season at 27.6% in the loss at COFO, the Evangels still rank top three in the SAC in 3-pt made and percentage at 8.5 per game and 33% from behind the arc. The Evangels sit fourth in points per game with 77.1, but the impressive stats are on the defensive side. MACU leads the conference in steals per game with 12 and allows the fewest offensive rebounds with 7.8 per game. The Evangels have held conference opponents to a remarkable 58.5 ppg, allowing just 36% opposition field goal percentage.
    • Mid-America Christian remain joint top of the table with one-loss equal with Nelson and Science & Arts.

    • Science & Arts enters its final game of 2025 with a 5-1 conference record getting a bounce back 70-56 win on the road against John Brown over the weekend. Just like the Evangels, the Drovers lost their first conference game in Point Lookout, Mo. by a 91-67 scoreline to COFO last Thursday evening.
    • Senior guard Evangelia Davlakou leads the Drovers with 16 ppg and a SAC best 49 total assists. Davlakou has shot an efficient 40% from 3-pt, while recording a 30-point game in the season opener against North Texas – Dallas.
    • The Drovers are the hottest shooting team in the conference with marks of 45% from the field, and 37.2% from behind the arc. Science & Arts have four players shooting better than 40% from three-point, as the high-octane offense averages them 78 points per game. The Drovers also sit second in assists with 16 per game.
    • However, Science & Arts aren't all offensive with top three conference ranks in steals per game (11.7), 20 opposition turnovers a game, and an impressive 58.8 points allowed per game on a conference leading 30% opposition field goal percentage.
    • The Evangels have been successful in recent years against the Drovers as MACU holds a dominant 27-17 record all-time against USAO. MACU won all three meetings a season ago including in the quarterfinals of the SAC Tournament and have defeated the Drovers in seven consecutive games.
