GAME SUMMARY
- First Quarter
- Both teams struggled to get things going offensively in the early going as neither team was able to break into the scoring column until Syncere Harrod was fouled and knocked down a pair of foul shots with 7:32 to go to give Mid-America Christian (20-4, 16-4 SAC) the 2-0 lead.
- Central Christian (3-22, 1-20 SAC) scored seven of the next 11 as a Charmayne Marshall three from the left wing gave the Tigers their first lead at 7-6 at the 5:06 mark, but MACU quickly answered back with a pair of layups from Kylee Scheer and Sydney Savage in-transition to give MACU the 10-7 edge with 4:30 left.
- Marshall banked in another three with 3:16 to go to tie it up, but the Evangels went on a 7-0 run before the Tigers got a bucket with 25 seconds left to make it a 17-12 game after one.
- Second Quarter
- Central Christian scored six of the first nine through the first three-and-a-half minutes on a pair of threes to cut the MACU edge down to 20-18 before the Evangels strung together a 9-0 run capped off on Talayah Thomas' fastbreak runner gave MACU its first double-digit lead of the game at 29-18 with just under five minutes to go.
- MACU maintained a commanding lead over the next few minutes as Shy Christopher's fastbreak runner with 2:22 left made it a 34-24 game before the Tigers swung back with a seven-unanswered streak as Chloe Clevenger's fastbreak hoop and the harm with 25 seconds left cut it to 34-31.
- On MACU's final possession, the Evangels swung it over to Hailey Tunnell on the right wing as she buried a three with eight seconds left before Talayah Thomas got a strong defensive stop on Clevenger to prevent her from getting a shot off at the buzzer, sending the Evangels into the break with the 37-31 advantage.
- Third Quarter
- The Evangels quickly pushed its lead out to double-figures as MACU scored 10 of the first 12 points with Mary Nyakundi getting a fastbreak left elbow jumper to fall with 6:23 remaining to stretch the Evangels' edge to 47-33, forcing the Tigers to call a timeout.
- The timeout did little to curb the dominant Evangels attack and rebounding efforts as Syncere Harrod scored seven points during a 9-1 surge as her lay-in on the right block with 3:03 left extended the lead to 56-34, forcing another CCCK timeout.
- A Clevenger left corner three out of the timeout briefly stopped the MACU run, but only briefly as the Evangels closed out with a 13-2 run as a pair of Christopher foul shots with six seconds left before blocking a three-point attempt at the buzzer to hold a 69-39 advantage at the end of three.
- Fourth Quarter
- A Marshall steal and fastbreak layup with eight minutes left was the first bucket for either team through the first few minutes before Christopher started to take back over, getting a strong layup and a three-point fastbreak lay-in to jumpstart an 12-2 Evangels surge as Harrod's foul shot with 3:44 left stretch the lead to 82-43.
- Another Marshall three from the left wing on the ensuing possession finally snapped the streak as the Tigers scored five of the next seven, but MACU finished the contest strong by scoring 12 of the final 15 points as Sydney Savage drained a left wing three with four seconds to go to wrap-up the 96-50 final.
