  • Team Notes:
    • Mid-America Christian is coming off a tough home loss to Texas Wesleyan on its Senior Day on Saturday as the Evangels had a chance at the buzzer for the win, but Juwan White's 30-foot heave at the buzzer hit off the back of the rim as the Evangels suffered a 70-68 defeat.
    • Four of MACU's 12 seniors broke into double-figures against TXWES as Josiah Fulcher scored a game-high 23 points on 9-of-15 shooting, including going 2-for-5 from three and 3-of-4 from the line while Keeshawn Mason poured in 13 points to go with 12 apiece from Tarrence Gaines and Juwan White.
    • In that game, redshirt senior guard/forward Tarrence Gaines became just the third MACU Men's Basketball player in the NAIA Era (2007-present) to surpass 500 career rebounds as his seven boards against the Rams moved him to 503 boards, sitting just one back of Josh Ball (504, 2012-15) for second and 37 rebounds away from MACU Player of the Decade Charlie Shorter (540, 2008-13).
    • Entering the final two games, MACU currently sits in fifth in the SAC standings with a 15-7 league mark but is only two games back of Nelson (17-5) in first, a game back of John Brown (16-6) in second and a half-game back of Langston and Wayland Baptist (16-7).

  • Team Notes:
    • Oklahoma Panhandle State is coming off a tough road weekend at John Brown and College of the Ozarks last weekend. Even though OPSU put up a tough battle at JBU, falling just 58-51, the Aggies lost a crucial one against the Bobcats as COFO came away with the 75-61 win on Saturday.
    • The Aggies have been challenged on the offensive end in SAC play this season as OPSU ranks second-to-last in scoring offense (65.5 ppg), but are making up for it on the defensive end by holding its opponents to the league's third-lowest scoring average (66.8 ppg).
    • OPSU is led on the offensive end by one of the most prolific scorers in the conference on sophomore guard Amaree Brown. Entering its final SAC game, Brown is posting the fourth-best scoring average (17.9 ppg) while shooting a solid 44.4 percent from the field, 34.1 percent from three and gets to the free throw line often and shoots at a high efficiency at 108-for-144 (75.0 percent).
    • Mid-America Christian will be looking to avenge a heartbreaking loss to Oklahoma Panhandle State inside the Gaulke Activity Center on Jan. 9 as the Aggies managed to get a steal in waning seconds and dunked home a fastbreak buzzer beater as the Evangels fell 85-84. However, after that loss, MACU found its stride as the Evangels went on an eight-game win streak following the defeat.

  • Team Notes:
    • After going toe-to-toe with John Brown in a 75-72 overtime loss in Siloam Springs last Saturday, Wayland Baptist put together a strong road performance in a 75-61 win at College of the Ozarks on Monday.
    • The Pioneers feature a solid scoring offense as WBU ranks fifth in the conference in points per game (73.7) while also posting the fifth-best scoring defense in the league (68.0 ppg).
    • The Evangels will need to look to contain the SAC's leading scorer in senior guard Quenton Coleman, who comes into the contest as the only player in the league averaging more than 20 points per game (20.5) in SAC games while shooting a solid 44.4 percent) and 40.1 percent from three as well as an electric 126-for-145 (86.9 percent) from the free throw line.
    • In their previous meeting inside the Gaulke Activity Center back on Jan. 11, Mid-America Christian was successful in shutting down WBU's lethal guard as Coleman netted just 15 points on 4-of-20 shooting, including going 3-for-15 from three-point range.
