NORMAN, Okla. – The MACU Men's Track and Field team competed in the cold, wet and blustery conditions of the John Jacobs Invitational hosted by the University of Oklahoma at the John Jacobs Track & Field Complex on Thursday.
 
EVENTS

• 1500-Meter Run
  • Jaden Rodriguez paced the Evangels in the 1500-meter as he placed 11^th out of 44 runners in the event with a personal-best time of 4:08.43, just barely missing an NCCAA National Championship qualifying mark by .43 seconds, but besting his PR by almost 16 seconds. Rodriguez was the only non-NCAA D-I or D-II runner to finish in the top 25
  • Aidan Collins and Cameron Pearson also turned in personal best times in the 1500-meter event as Collins crossed the finish line in 4:17.80 to place 27^th and better his time by more than six seconds.
  • Meanwhile, Pearson placed 37^th with a time of 4:25.12, setting a mark that was nine seconds better than his PR of 4:34.63 that was ran at the OBU Invitational last weekend.
• 800-Meter Run
  • For the second-straight week, Mohamed Zairi led MACU in the 800-meter event as he crossed the finish line in 11^th out of 50 competitors as he improved upon his career-best time with a 1:56.96, ranking 0.43 seconds better than his NCCAA National Qualifying mark last week at the OBU Invitational.
  • Running in his first 800-meter event of the outdoor season, Alexander Pebeahsy put together a very solid 2:03.31 to place 31^st while Collin Seely crossed close behind in 35^th with a time of 2:05.21.
  • Aidan Collins and Connor Gerth finished neck-in-neck at 2:08.39 with Collins holding a slight edge for 39^th.

UP NEXT

• Mid-America Christian will make its way up to Wichita, Kansas next weekend as the Evangels will compete in the KT Woodman Classic hosted by Wichita State University at Cessna Stadium from Apr. 11-12.
