  • Team Notes
    • Mid-America Christian secured its second win at home last time out against Columbia (Mo.) on Monday night with the opening goal coming in the second minute through freshman defender Hayden Hoxie, who scored a header from Federico Palacios' delivery. Ryan Jeanfreau added an insurance goal in the 31st minute for a 2-0 win to stop the four-game losing streak.
    • The Evangels saw significant offensive production against Columbia with junior forward Haruya Higuchi back in the starting lineup for the Evangels. After being injured in the final preseason scrimmage, Higuchi missed most of MACU's non-conference games making his first appearance in the last five games.
    • MACU recorded its first clean sheet in five games as freshman goalkeeper Dante Caffaro got the start Monday night and carded his first collegiate win in-goal.
    • It is the final tune-up for the Evangels before they get into SAC play starting with a pair of games on the road at Oklahoma City and Wayland Baptist (Texas).

  • Team Notes:
    • The Eagles are coming off a tough 1-0 loss to Rogers State (Okla.) who was voted No. 11 in the latest NCAA Division II polls. A goal in the 17th minute for Hillcats proved to be enough in a game that Oklahoma Christian outshot RSU.
    • OC started its season with a win on the road at Southern Nazarene (Okla.), who was receiving votes at the time with the goal coming in the 69th minute from sophomore forward Ethan Nakolo. Since then, the Eagles fell to Newman (Kan.) in a one-goal game and drew with Drury (Mo.) in their home opener.
    • Nakolo finished his 2024 campaign with six goals, three assists, and 15 points, making him the second-leading goal scorer for the Eagles. This year, he is off to a red-hot start scoring three goals and adding an assist to lead the OC attack.
    • Igor Caballero enters his third year at Oklahoma Christian, coming off a team-leading seven goals last season.  He has yet to find the back of the net this year, but has tallied an assist and started all four games for the Eagles.
    • Sophomore goalkeeper Nick Hardiman has started all four matches, making 14 saves with one shutout.
    • Most of OC coaching staff consists of former MACU coaches and players. Head Coach Neil Hilton spent one season at the helm of the Evangels in 2023, finishing with a 17-0-4 record, winning the SAC regular season and tournament titles while being named the league's Coach of the Year. He previously served four seasons as an assistant coach with the Evangels. Assistant Coach Allan Sorato is MACU's fifth all-time leading goal scorer with 20 in his two-year career. Graduate Assistant Coach Javier Ceballos was a goalkeeper for MACU from 2021-23.
    • The Evangels and Eagles will be playing each other following a 10-year hiatus, making it the seventh meeting between the two programs. MACU won the last two games against OC, with the previous matchup resulting in a final score of 3-2 on Sept. 15, 2015 at the Eagle Soccer Field in Edmond.
