Women’s Basketball Seek Bounce Back at Science and Arts

OKLAHOMA CITY – The MACU Women's Basketball team heads to Chickasha, Okla. to face Science & Arts as the Evangels look for revenge against the Drovers on Monday afternoon tipping off at 2 p.m. inside the Drover Fieldhouse.

    • Mid-America Christian suffered its first loss of the 2026 calendar year on the road against Texas Wesleyan. The Evangels scored their lowest point tally and shot their second lowest percentage from the field at 31.1% (19-61) falling to 8-3 in conference play. MACU sits fourth in the Sooner Athletic Conference standings, just one-game back of the top spot.
    • Junior forward Caitlynn Jordan leads the Evangels in scoring and rebounding averaging 13.4 ppg and 7.8 rebounds. Jordan's rebounding mark sits her top three in the SAC standings in that category. Taliah Lee has been a defensive force rejecting a conference-best 24 blocks, while adding 35 steals. Lee led the Evangels with 18 points in the loss to Texas Wesleyan on the weekend.
    • Mia Smith is the leading distributor for the Evangels with 57 total assists, a mark that sees her top five in the conference.  
    • Despite the rough offensive output last game, MACU still averages over 70 points per game, a top three conference stat. The Evangels also rank top three with 42% field goal percentage, 34% 3pt percentage, and 84% from the stripe.
    • The Evangels allow the second fewest points at 57, while dominating teams by forcing an average of 21 turnovers, on 11 steals per game, and 3.5 blocks.

    • Science & Arts saw its seven-game win streak come to an end on Saturday afternoon at Nelson in a 92-91 game as the Drovers fell to 9-2 in conference play to sit them tied for first in the SAC standings.
    • The Drovers are led offensively by senior guard Evangelia Davlakou who averages 16.2 points per game and a conference-best 4.4 assists per game. Davlakou scored 37 points, grabbed seven rebounds, dished out five assists, and tallied four steals in the Drovers' loss to Nelson on Saturday afternoon.  
    • USAO enters the second half of conference play averaging a second-highest 78.4 points per game, on a conference-best 44.7% from the field and 34.7% from behind the arc. The Drovers also average the largest rebounding margin at 7.5 per game and 16 assists per game.
    • Mid-America Christian hold the all-time record against USAO at 27-18. However, the Drovers snapped a seven game Evangel win streak with a 69-66 win in the first meeting this season inside the Gaulke Activity Center on Dec. 16th.  Davlakou led the way with 20 points for the Drovers, while Caitlynn Jordan scored 17 points to lead the Evangels.
