Women’s Basketball Travels to Nelson, Hosts Texas Wesleyan on Senior Day

OKLAHOMA CITY – The MACU Women's Basketball team are set for a big week ahead by first heading to Waxahachie, Texas for a pivotal Sooner Athletic Conference game against Nelson on Thursday night tipping off at 6 p.m. The Evangels will return home for Senior Day and play host to Texas Wesleyan Saturday afternoon tipping off at 2 p.m. inside the Gaulke Activity Center.

    • Mid-America Christian lost a nail-biter at home to SAC leaders Langston last week. However, the Evangels quickly bounced back with a dominant win on the road against Central Christian on Saturday afternoon.
    • Junior forward Caitlynn Jordan leads the Evangels in scoring and rebounding averaging 14.1 points per game and ranks top five in the SAC with 7.6 rebounds per game.
    • Taliah Lee is the conference's leading blocker with 35 on the season, while also contributing 41 steals. Sincere Roberts has a team high 47 steals.
    • Mia Smith is the leading passer on this Evangels team with 78 assists to rank top three in the SAC.  
    • MACU continues to rank top three in offensive statistics averaging over 70 points per game on 41.5% from the field and a conference best 34.7% from behind the arc. The Evangels have also increased their 3-pt shooting averaging 8.6 made per game.
    • The Evangels continue to rally on the defensive end holding opponents to just 57 points allowed in conference play, a second lowest mark. MACU also blocks the most shots at just under four a game, while averaging 10 steals a game.
    • Mid-America Christian will be celebrating Talayah Thomas, Sincere Roberts, and Emma Allen during the Senior Day Ceremony.

    • The Lions are led offensively by senior guard Paris Miller who is a top five scorer and rebounder in the SAC with 16.6 points per game and 7.5 rebounds.   
    • Nelson ranks first in almost every offensive category, scoring 80 points per game on 43% from the field. The Lions make 10.5 three pointers a game led by Lauryn Scalice who shoots a conference best 46% from behind the arc, including 4-4 in the win over Southwestern Chrisitan last Saturday afternoon.
    • Mid-America Christian holds a 23-11 all-time record against Nelson now winning four in a row against the Lions. The Evangels defended their home court in their first meeting on Jan. 15, 2026, in a 60-58 win. Taliah Lee had a game high 17 points and nine rebounds for the Evangels. Paris Miller led the way for the Lions with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

    • TWU sits in the bottom half of the conference standings in most offensive categories. The Rams average 61 points per game, shooting 37% from the field as a team.
    • However, the Rams are a solid defensive team, allowing just 61 points against with three blocks and 10.5 steals averaged per game.
    • Mid-America Christian holds a 22-7 all-time record against Texas Wesleyan. However, the Rams snapped a five game Evangel win streak in the first meeting this season on Jan. 17, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas as TWU won 58-49, holding the Evangels to a season-low points. Taliah Lee scored a game-high 18 points, while Kameryn Phillips led the Rams with 15 points and eight rebounds.
