Women’s Basketball Ready to Host SAC Leaders Langston, Trip to Central Christian

OKLAHOMA CITY – The MACU Women's Basketball team are prepared for a massive week ahead by playing host to Sooner Athletic Conference leaders Langston on Thursday night for a 6 p.m. tipoff inside the Gaulke Activity Center. The Evangels will hit the road for a Saturday afternoon clash with Central Christian tipping off at 2 p.m. in McPherson, Kan.

    • Mid-America Christian are coming off a win on Monday night against Southwestern Christian where the Evangels trailed late on and rallied back in the fourth to win a fifth consecutive game and improve to 13-3 in SAC play, remaining just one game back of the leaders Langston.
    • Junior forward Caitlynn Jordan leads the Evangels in scoring and rebounding averaging 13.9 ppg and ranks top five in the SAC with 7.5 rebounds.
    • Taliah Lee was nominated the Sooner Athletic Conference Defender of the Week for the third time this season. Lee has been a defensive force leading the conference with 33 blocks and tallying 41 steals.
    • Mia Smith is the leading passer on this Evangels team with 72 assists to rank top five in the SAC.  
    • MACU continues to rank top three in offensive statistics averaging over 70 points per game on 41.2% from the field and a conference best 34.1% from behind the arc. The Evangels have also increased their 3-pt shooting averaging 8.5 made per game.
    • MACU continues to dominate at the defensive end, forcing an average of 19 turnovers a game off 10 steals and 3.5 blocks. The Evangels allow the second fewest points against with 57.1.

    • Langston ranks in the middle of the pack offensively with 66 points per game on 39% from the field. However, the Lions run ravage on the defensive end allowing a conference low 49 points against a game, with 12.5 steals and forcing 24 turnovers. This sets up a clash with the two best statistical defensive teams in the conference.
    • Mid-America Christian holds an 11-7 all-time record against Langston including a win in the first meeting between the schools this season. The Evangels won 56-52 in a defensive battle at the FireLake Arena in Shawnee, Okla. on Dec. 12, 2025. Caitlynn Jordan led the Evangels with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Areyanna Hunter led the Lions with 14 points and eight boards.

    • CCCK ranks bottom half offensively with 55 points per game on 31% shooting from the field. However, the Tigers are a streaky shooting team from the perimeter making an average of eight triples a game.
    • Mid-America Christian holds a dominant 25-2 all-time record against Central Christian winning 23 consecutive against the Tigers dating back to Jan. 31, 2006, the last time the Evangels lost to the Tigers. MACU won the first meeting 86-57 on Dec. 4, 2025, as Taliah Lee recorded a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards.
