PITCHING DECISION TOP PERFORMERS SCORING SUMMARY GAME SUMMARY
  • MACU started its historic game with a leadoff homer from Sammy Hallada in the first at bat of the game. Jalen King walked, then scored after Nick Hill homered to center field for the first three runs of the game.
  • The Aggies put two on the board in the bottom half of the first as runners advanced to the corners after an early error. The first runner scored after an RBI ground out, then a single to the opposite side allowed a second run to score to cut the lead down to 3-2.
  • The Evangels loaded the bases early in the second inning as three were sent home after a double to right field from Jalen King. Adam Hanan hit his first of three homers to score a pair of runs and extend MACU's lead to 8-2.
  • OPSU added a third in the bottom of the second with an RBI single to left field, allowing the leadoff runner to score from second base.
  • Mid-America Christian put up a six spot in the top of the third as Elijah Lee's RBI single allowed Jesse Ortega home. King doubled once again as Hallada made it home from second. Nick Hill walked and Hanan singled to allow Cole Krepcik to clear the bags with a grand slam over the right center wall. The Evangels led 14-3 through three innings.
  • The Evangels tallied a second consecutive inning with six runs as they loaded the bases in the first three batters in the top of the fourth. Hallada's RBI walk allowed Julio Felix home for the 15th run. King reached on a fielder's choice and scored Ortega. After Hill walked, Hanan's second home run of the game emptied the bases for the second MACU grand slam and a 20-3 advantage.
  • Panhandle State added its fourth run in the bottom of the fourth after an error and a pair of walks loaded the bases for the Aggies. A wild pitch scored the run, but Byron Madero on the mound in relief retired the following two batters to just concede one.
  • The Evangels continued their scoring streak making it five consecutive innings with a run as once again the bases loaded after three straight walks. Krepcik reached first on a field error by the shortstop, which allowed Jalen King and Sammy Hallada to reach home to lead 22-4.
  • Sammy Hallada's RBI single to center field scored the next run in the sixth inning. King added another RBI with his single to center field as Ned Ceklic made it home. Adam Hanan homered for the program-tying third time in a single game as this homer scored three runs and a 27-4 lead heading into the final inning.
  • MACU continued to score in the seventh to make it seven consecutive innings with at least two runs scored. A pair of walks added to quick Evangel runners. Hill singled up the middle to score Elijah Lee from second. Hanan reached on a fielding error which scored Jake Van Blaircom from second base. Van Blaircom's run scored the new program record 29th run in a single game as the Evangels' dominant 29-4 win over Oklahoma Panhandle State took the series.
GAME NOTES
  • MACU put up a new season-high 20 hits and scored a program record 29 runs in seven innings. The previous record of 28 runs scored came on April 27th, 2010, in the win over Ozark Christian. The previous record of 26 RBIs also occurred in the win over Ozark Chrisitan as the Evangels broke that record batting in 27 runs.
  • Carlos Uribe got the start on the mound and pitched three innings with a pair of strikeouts, allowing five hits and two earned runs. Byron Madero entered in relief and credited the win in two innings of work allowing just one hit and striking out two. Madero continued his perfect season and notched his sixth win to take his season record to 6-0. Jackson Miller closed out the final two innings with two strikeouts and just one hit.
  • Adam Hanan's historic game notched him into the record book with a program-tying three home runs in a single game as he joined D'Andre Gaines as the only two Evangels to achieve this feat. Hanan went 4-7 from the dish and scored four runs while batting in a program record nine RBIs. The single game RBI record of eight was held by Yan Ely Adames against Bacone on Feb. 20th, 2020. Hanan's nine RBIs sit him alone at the top of the MACU record book.
  • Jalen King had an efficient 3-4 afternoon with six runs batted in and scored six runs himself. The six runs scored by King etched his name into the MACU Baseball Program Record Book as the previous record of five runs scored in a single game occurred four times and the first since the 2023 season.
  • Sammy Hallada entered the record book as well with five runs scored in a single game as he had a share of the program record before King scored 90 feet behind him. Hallada went 2-4 from the dish and batted in three runs with two walks.
  • MACU extended its all-time series record over OPSU to 18-8. This win marked the largest margin of victory over the Aggies as the previous largest margin came in an 18-1 win on March 22nd, 2024, during the last road trip out to Goodwell, Okla.
