  • The Evangels put a runner in scoring position in their half of the first when Taylor Martinez drew a leadoff walk and got down to second on Dakota Watson's groundout to first, but she was unfortunately caught stealing third for the final out of the frame.
  • The Eagles once again tried to threaten in the top of the third when Keele reached on an error and stole second with no outs. However, MACU got out of the jam by catching Keele trying to steal second and Emmerson Dickinson struck out the next two batters to keep it 0-0.
  • MACU put together its biggest threat in the bottom of the fourth when Dakota Watson led off the frame by dropping a single into left before Kiley Flores hammered a double to the right-center field wall. However, the Eagles got out of the jam in a big way by throwing out Watson at home trying to score on Flores' hit before Keele made two strong plays at short to keep Flores at third.
  • SCU mustered its biggest threat of the contest in the top of the fifth when it got runners to first and third and two outs. The Evangels nearly got out of it when Kylee Coy beat out a bang-bang play on first on her grounder to third as her infield single gave SCU the 1-0 advantage.
  • The Eagles added another in the top of the sixth by taking advantage of a MACU miscue and excellent baserunning. The Evangels loaded the bases on Serena Rodriguez's leadoff single up the middle and then back-to-back one out singles off the bats of Flores and Heidi Noisey. Kayten Herman drew a hard-fought bases-loaded walk on a full count to bring in the first run before Mia Macias tied it on her hard-hit ground ball single up the middle to make it 2-2.
  • The Evangels took the lead when Madison Schroeder drew another bases-loaded walk before Jorjanna King capped off the scoring on her deep sac fly to left, plating Herman and setting the score to 4-2.
  • The Evangels defense came up big to close it out in the top of the seventh, making three strong plays on groundouts to the left side, two to Dickinson in the circle and one to King at third to wrap-up the 4-2 final.
