KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After wrapping up one of the most successful seasons in program history, the MACU Baseball team reached new heights as the Evangels were ranked No. 8 in the final NAIA Top 25 Coaches' Poll announced on Wednesday.
Overall, the Evangels received 279 points in the poll to move up 10 spots from its last regular season ranking, finishing 10 points ahead of Johnson (Tenn.) with 269 points and Doane (Neb.) at 245 to round out the top 10. MACU finished just a point back of Georgia Gwinnett for the No. 7 spot.
Previously, MACU's highest spot in the rankings came during the 2024 season when it was tabbed 11th in the final coaches' poll.
MACU wrapped up a historic season full of multiple firsts. Not only did the Evangels capture their first NAIA Opening Round Championship by defeating host and 2025 National Champion No. 12 LSU Shreveport 7-4 on May 13, but also notched its first ever NAIA World Series win by taking down No. 10 Doane 7-3 on May 22.
The Evangels wrapped up their campaign with a program record for wins, finishing with a 43-15 overall record while capturing the program's second Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament title with a 22-4 victory over No. 15 Texas Wesleyan on May 3.
MACU turned in its third-straight 20-win SAC season, placing second in the final league standings with a 20-7 conference mark.
