OKLAHOMA CITY – The MACU Women's Soccer team met one of the top KCAC schools in Friends and played a competitive and entertaining 0-0 tie on Thursday night at the Dill Soccer Field.

MATCH SUMMARY

• First Half
  • MACU jumped on the front foot in the opening 10 minutes with a pair of shots from Brae Baker and a long-range effort from Mikayla Van Blaricom that forced saves from the Friends' goalkeeper.
  • Niamh Taylor made her lone first half save in the 28^th minute in routine fashion and quickly started a counterattack the other way which led to a shot on goal from Rosina Mastro.
• Second Half
  • The second half brought a few more fireworks as both defenses made fantastic individual plays. Niamh Taylor came up with a fantastic reaction save in the 49^th minute to keep it level. 45 seconds later, on the other end, the Falcons' goalkeeper stopped a breakaway attempt from Lexi Swetz to keep the Evangels off the board.
  • Mikayla Van Blaricom tried her luck from range again in the 60^th minute and put a much better effort to force a difficult save out of Kaitlyn Martinez to keep it out of the top right corner.
  • Morgan Higgins looked to break the deadlock in the 79^th minute with her shot attempt blocked with a sliding challenge on the six-yard box from a Friends defender. The Evangels and Falcons played to a 0-0 draw as neither team could find the breakthrough.

MATCH NOTES

• For a game with no goals, this game saw tons of attacking threats as MACU held a 21-10 shot advantage with 10 shots on goal to the Falcons' two.
• Brae Baker led the Evangel attack with eight shots and five on target. Lexi Swetz had three shots and two on frame.
• Niamh Taylor was called upon twice, including the biggest save of the night in the second half with the quick point-blank reaction save to keep Friends off the board.    
• This is the sixth meeting between Mid-America Christian and Friends, with the first tie between the two teams. The Evangels hold the all-time record against the Falcons at 3-2-1.

• Mid-America Christian faces LSU Shreveport for its fourth of six consecutive home games to start the 2026 campaign on Saturday morning for an 11 A.M. kickoff at the Dill Soccer Field.
