Cameron Matherly is entering into his second season as an Assistant Coach and will also continue to serve as the Head Coach of the JV baseball team for the 2024 campaign.
In his first season serving in the role of first base coach with Varsity team, the Evangels closed out the year in dramatic fashion as the Evangels won their first ever NCCAA World Series title after defeating Southwestern Christian 3-2 in 10 innings on a walk-off at the Kansas City Urban Youth Academy on May 23. MACU closed out the year with a program-record 39-17 overall record and also turned in the program's first winning season in Sooner Athletic Conference play after going 15-9.
The JV squad wrapped up just its second year as a program in 2023 with a 5-12-1 overall record under Matherly. 
Matherly competed for the MACU baseball team from 2019-22 where he saw action in 35 games and made five starts, four of which coming during the 2021 season. Overall, Matherly ended his Evangels baseball career batting 6-for-37 (.162) with one double, eight RBIs and five runs scored. Matherly served as one of the leaders of the team that qualified for the program's first ever NCCAA World Series during the 2022 season where MACU went 32-22.
Matherly earned his Bachelor's in Psychology from Mid-America Christian in May 2022.
