The Evangels then went on to defeat No. 10 Doane 8-5 in their first NAIA World Series game.

It was overall a banner year for the MACU Baseball team and pitching staff as a whole. The Evangels amassed a program record in wins, ending the year with a 43-15 overall record and recorded 20 or more wins in SAC play for the third-straight year by finishing second in the league standings with a 20-7 mark.
