Dominick Ford

Dominick Ford is entering into his second season as the assistant coach of the MACU men's basketball program heading into the 2025-26 season and his sixth season overall on the Evangels' coaching staff.

In the 2024-25 campaign, the Evangels put together another remarkable season, finishing the year with a 22-9 overall record while finishing in a tie for second in the Sooner Athletic Conference standings with a 17-7 league mark. The Evangels picked up some huge wins over the course of the year, including a 70-52 win over SAC Champion Nelson (Texas) on Jan. 18 before following it up two days later with an 88-67 win over No. 8 Langston. As a result, the Evangels qualified for the NAIA Tournament for the eighth time in program history, all of which coming in the last 11 years.

During the 2023-24 season, MACU put together a resurgent year after wrapping up the campaign with a 24-9 overall record and finished second in the Sooner Athletic Conference standings with a 17-5 league mark. The Evangels made it all the way to the SAC Tournament Championship game after picking up victories against Texas Wesleyan (79-56) and John Brown (78-62) before falling to undefeated SAC Champion and NAIA National Runner-Up No. 2 Langston 55-44 in the title game. As a result, the Evangels qualified for their seventh NAIA Tournament appearance in the last 10 years and picked up a 68-67 win against Hastings in the 1st Round on Mar. 15.

In 2022-23, MACU wrapped up the campaign with an 11-17 overall record and finished 8-14 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.

In his first season in 2021-22, Ford helped lead MACU to a 20-13 overall record as the team earned its fourth straight bid to the NAIA National Championship Tournament while boasting its sixth 20-plus win season in the last eight years. Over the course of the season, the Evangels tallied three wins against teams ranked in the NAIA Top 10, including a 78-72 win at No. 6 LSU-Shreveport on Nov. 1, a 92-84 overtime home win over No. 8 Bethel (Kan.) on Nov. 6 and a 92-74 road win at No. 9 Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) on Feb. 7.

Ford began his coaching career after completing a five-year playing career with the Evangels. After redshirting the 2016-17 season, Ford amassed 689 points (6.9 ppg) on a 43.2 percent shooting percentage, a 36.3 percent three-point shooting clip (6th in NAIA Era) and a 68.3 percent rate from the free throw line. Ford also wrapped up his MACU career with 455 rebounds, ranking sixth in the NAIA Era to go with 112 assists, 54 steals and 15 blocks.

Ford's best season came during MACU's highly successful 2019-20 campaign that saw the Evangels go 30-2 and earned the Sooner Athletic Conference title after finishing with a 19-1 league mark. During that season, Ford set the program's NAIA Era record for single-season three-point shooting percentage after going 50-for-102 (49 percent) from downtown while finishing with career-highs in scoring (281, 8.8 ppg), rebounding (181) and assists (45).

Ford graduated with his Bachelor's of Science in Psychology from Mid-America Christian in May 2021.
