Torrey Young is entering his first season as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for the MACU men's basketball team in 2020-21.
Young returns to MACU after a two-year playing career with the Evangels, helping guide MACU to back-to-back NAIA Tournament appearances.
During the 2019-20 campaign, Young was a key part of the winningest team in the NAIA era as MACU finished 30-2 and won the squad's second ever Sooner Athletic Conference Championship with a 19-1 record in league play. Young saw action in 12 games for the Evangels, ripping down 25 rebounds and scoring six points. MACU was selected for its first ever No. 1 seed in the NAIA Tournament before the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2018-19, Young helped lead MACU to its third ever NAIA Tournament appearance as the Evangels went 21-13 for the year and upset No. 1 seed Tougaloo (Miss.) in the first round of the national meet. As a junior, Young appeared in nine games and scored four points and ripped down a pair of rebounds.
