Alexis Shannon

After completing a three-year playing career with the Evangels, Alexis Shannon is entering her first season as the Graduate Assistant Coach of the MACU women's basketball program for the 2020-21 season.

In the last three seasons, Shannon has led the MACU women's basketball program to new heights, which included winning back-to-back NCCAA Division I National Championships in 2018-19 as well as three consecutive 20-win seasons.

Shannon closed out her playing career as the program's second all-time leading scorer with 1853 points while setting multiple NAIA era program records in the process. At the conclusion of the 2019-20 season, Shannon finished as the third-leading scorer in the NAIA with 641 points.

In her playing career, Shannon was a three-time NCCAA First Team All-American as well as an NAIA All-American Honorable Mention in her three seasons with the program. Shannon was a three-time All-Sooner Athletic Conference First Team honoree in all three years while also being named a SAC Scholar-Athlete in 2020.

Before coming to MACU, Shannon played her freshman year of college ball at NCAA Division I Florida Atlantic, where she saw action in 29 games and made eight starts for the Owls.

Shannon received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology in 2020 and is currently pursuing Master's of Science degree in Counseling.Â
