Lauren Carmack comes to MACU following a successful season as an AssistantCoach at Colby Community College, where she played a significant role in all facets of the women's basketball program. Competing in the nation's premier junior college conference, Carmack helped guide the Trojans to a sixth-place finish in the Jayhawk Conference, a first-round home playoff victory, and a second-round appearance in the NJCAA Region VI Tournament during the 2025-26 campaign.
At Colby, Carmack's responsibilities extended far beyond the bench. She was heavily involved in player development, recruiting, scouting, opponent preparation, game planning, film breakdown, practice planning, academic support, and the day-to-day operations of the program. Through her work, student-athletes continued their playing careers across all levels of collegiate basketball, including NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NAIA, and junior college programs. She also built strong recruiting relationships throughout Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, and the surrounding region, helping identify and attract talented student-athletes who fit the program's culture.
Prior to Colby, Carmack served as an Assistant Coach at Sterling College for two seasons, where she helped lead the Warriors to the 2024-25 Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) Championship. She also served as the head coach of Sterling's varsity reserve team, gaining valuable experience in game management, player development, and program leadership.
A native of Elizabeth, Colo., Carmack graduated from Legend High School before continuing her playing career at Sterling. As a four-year member of the Warriors women's basketball program, she helped the Warriors qualify for the NAIA National Tournament in each of her four seasons and guided the team to three KCAC Championships. She was recognized as an NAIA Scholar-Athlete while earning her bachelor's degree.
Carmack brings a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the court, with strengths in recruiting, player development, scouting, and program operations. She is committed to fostering meaningful relationships with her players while helping them grow athletically, academically, and personally.
