10/25/07 - OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Former University of Oklahoma defensive player Carl Pendleton spoke to approximately 150 student athletes at Mid-America's Fellowship of Christian Athletes meeting, Oct. 24.
Pendleton emphasized the influence and image that each student-athlete has at MACU.
Pendleton, who is one of FCA most popular speakers in Oklahoma, talked about how the words that come from our mouths can impact someone's life. Pendleton reflected on the day that he recognized his influence and how he saved someone from taking their life by taking the time to talk to him.
"Carl did an excellent job," MACU FCA Director Zac Bice said. "He spoke directly to the student-athletes and said some things that were very important."
After Pendleton shared his message, the students broke into groups and prayed for various topics.
"You could really feel the spirit move during prayer time," Bice said. "The student-athletes are beginning to be interactive with other sports, instead of interacting with their own sport."
MACU will hold its next FCA meeting in November.
