9/18/07 - OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - The Mid-America Christian University baseball team is back in action for the 2007-2008 season. The Evangels started practice at the end of August and have been working diligently ever since as they are ready to make their mark in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

Coach Jason Blackwell expects a strong recruiting class to be a key in the success for the Evnagels this season. The newcomers are expected to add depth to a talented team and help compete in a very competitive conference. The Evangels had a strong showing against SAC schools last year, compiling a record of 7-13 against SAC opponents.

"We played well against the Sooner Athletic Conference schools last year," Blackwell said. "We should do the same this year."

The Evangels have the ability to open some eyes around the country. The team has experience and will feature eleven upper classmen and 16 returnees.

"I am very excited about the upcoming season," Blackwell said. "I know we can be very competitive if we continue the great work ethic and desire."
