MACU Stretches Losing Streak

Dec. 1, 2007

11.1.07 - SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark.- The Mid-America Christian University Evangels stretched their losing streak to three game Saturday, Dec. 1. The John Brown University Golden Eagles defeated the Evangels 79-53 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.

"We struggled to get in our offense," Head Coach Willie Holley said. "Their defense was very physical and they did a good job disrupting our offense."

JBU stretched their lead throughout the first half and pulled their lead to double digits for the first time with thirty second remaining in the first half. At the half the Evangels went into the locker room down 33-20.

The Golden Eagles went on a 22-6 run in the second half and put the Evangels away early. JBU held its largest lead of the night at 76-40 with 5:31 remaining in the game. MACU would trim the lead, but JBU held on for the win
