12.6.07 - OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Mid-America Christian University student-athletes learned the importance of living for today at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes meeting Wednesday, Dec. 5.
Chris Wall, youth pastor at Council Road Baptist Church in Bethany, shared with the MACU student-athletes about living life everyday as if it is your last. Wall shared a story about a highly recruited baseball player in his youth group, Justin Sullivan, whom he mentored and taught.
Sullivan was killed in a major car accident a day before the Major League Baseball draft. Sullivan wrote a diary about his time with the Lord and expressed that this life will make sense when we see the Lord face-to-face.
"We had a great night at our FCA meeting last night," FCA Director Zach Bice said. "Our athletes were extremely attentive and it seemed that the message had a significant impact on the athletes."
Wall has written a book on the life of Sullivan, "A Life worth Following." The book can be found and purchased at www.alifeworthfollowing.org.
"I hope that people will pick this book up. It will be a great tool in any individual's daily walk," Bice said.
MACU will hold its next FCA meeting in January.
