MACU Falls to USAO

Jan. 5, 2008

1.5.08 - OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - The Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels fell to the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Lady Drovers Saturday, Jan 5. The Lady Evangels lost to the Lady Drovers 65-42.

MACU struggled from the field, shooting 25% from the field and failing to make a three-point attempt. USAO out rebounded the Lady Evangels 62-40.

"It seemed there was a lid on the basket tonight," Head Coach Josh Lind said. "We let them dominate us on the boards, which led to second chance points and it is hard to win in this conference when you give up that many rebounds."

The Lady Drovers jumped out to an early lead and never trailed in the game.

MACU went into the locker room down 37-20 at halftime.

The Lady Evangels rallied early in the second half and cut the lead to single digits, but the Lady Drovers stretched their lead back to double digits and held on for the win.

Senior Courtney Sorrels scored a team high 15 points, including six rebounds and four steals.

The Lady Evangels fall to 3-10, and 0-5 in Sooner Athletic Conference play.

MACU will take on Oklahoma Baptist University on the road Thursday, Jan 10 at 6:00 p.m.
