Dec. 13, 2008

12.13.08 - Oklahoma City, Okla. - With three players in double figures the Lady Evangels rolled to an 81-59 victory over Texas College on Saturday afternoon at the Gualke Activity Center.

The win moves MACU to 5-6 on the season. With the loss Texas College is now 0-10.

The Lady Evangels led by as many as 18 in the first half but the Lady Steers did not give up, only trailing by five going into the locker room at half.

"They were a scrappy group," Head Women's Basketball Coach Markus Crandall said. "They were very athletic and played with a lot of heart."

The Lady Evangels turned over the ball 14 times in the first half and the Lady Steers capitalized scoring thirteen points.

"We had too many unforced turnovers in the first half," Crandall said. "We corrected the turnovers and rebounded better in the second half."

The Lady Evangels continued to pour on the points in the second half, leading by 31 with five minutes to play.

The Lady Evangels will return to Sooner Athletic Conference play on January 3rd at 6 p.m. when they host Lubbock Christian University.
