MACU Suffers Road Loss

Feb. 9, 2008

2.9.08 - BETHANY, Okla.- The Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangels suffered a road loss against the Southern Nazarene University Crimson Storm in Sooner Athletic Conference play Saturday, Feb 9. The Crimson Storm defeated the Lady Evangels 89-57.

"I thought we played very good half court defense, but we struggled to get out on the shooters in transition," MACU Head Coach Josh Lind said. "When you give up the offensive rebounds and have as many turnovers as we did transition defense is crucial."

SNU closed the first half on an 8-0 run and went into the locker room on top of the Lady Evangels, 41-25.

The Crimson Storm stretched their lead to twenty points early in the first half, and found themselves ahead, 59-32, with fifteen minutes left in the game. MACU never cut the lead below twenty points, with SNU holding its largest lead, 85-49, with under three minutes left to go in the game.
