3.6.08 - OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Mid-America Christian University Lady Evangel senior, Courtney Sorrels, carved her name into the MACU record books against the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Lady Drovers in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament, Wednesday, March 5.

Sorrels now holds the records for most free-throws made in a career, 461, and free-throws made in a game with 19.

Sorrels made 19 free-throws in a row against the Lady Drovers, and with free-throw number 12 she cemented her place on the MACU all-time career list. The mark was previously held by former Lady Evangel Alissa Hauck.

When Sorrels hit free-throw number 17 on Wednesday night she tied former Lady Evangel Angela Holley for most free-throws made in a game, and when she hit number 18 she stood alone.

"Courtney is one of the best overall players in the history of MACU, in my opinion," MACU Head Coach Josh Lind said. "She has been a tremendous leader for us and will be missed greatly."

Sorrels finished her career ranked in the top ten in every major MACU career statistical category. She ranks second in points, third in two-pointers made, seventh in three-pointers made, ninth in assists, fourth in games played, fifth in rebounds, and fifth in steals.
