6.3.08 - OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Mid-America Christian University in Oklahoma City recently signed Collin County Community College transfer Raven Darnell to play women's basketball for the 2008-2009 season.

Darnell, a 20-year-old transfer from CCCC, was a post for the CCCC Lady Cougars, and will play the same position for the MACU Lady Evangels.

"Raven will bring depth to our post position next season," MACU Women's Basketball Coach Markus Crandall said. "She has the size and strength to make an impact inside the paint, and she can defend other post players well. We look forward to having Raven join our program."

Darnell earned All-State, All-Region, and was named the District Most Valuable Player for the Sanger High School Lady Indians in Sanger, Texas.

MACU is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and the Sooner Athletic Conference.
