9.1.08 - OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Mansfield High School graduate Matt Guinn signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Mid-America Christian University in the 2008-2009 season.

Guinn is a 17-year old Mansfield, Texas native who is the son of Danny and Connie Guinn. While playing baseball for the Mansfield Tigers, Guinn was a second team All-District pitcher. Along with pitching, he also played first base and was a designated hitter. As a senior, Guinn had a batting average of .345 with a .618 slugging percentage. On the mound he had a 2-0 record with a 1.93 earned run average.

"We are excited to have Matt join our baseball program," MACU Head Baseball Coach Kevin Paxson said. "He has the ability to come in and contribute to the team as a freshman. We expect big things from him in the future."MACU is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and the Sooner Athletic Conference.
