Oklahoma City, Okla. -- Just two days after being named the Sooner Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, Mid-America Christian senior forward John Shodipo has been selected as the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Men's Basketball Division I Player of the Week, the organization announced today.
Shodipo earned the award with an all-around monster performance of 26 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two steals in leading the Evangels to their fifth straight victory, a 71-66 win over John Brown last Saturday afternoon (Jan. 1).
He also knocked all four of his shots from beyond the arc in the win, including a key three that sparked a critical 9-0 spurt in the second half.
Overall this season, Shodipo is second on the team in scoring with 13.8 ppg and leads the Evangels with a team-high 6.6 rebounds a game.
Shodipo and the Evangels will next play at Oklahoma Christian tomorrow night (Jan. 8) at 8 p.m. in Edmond, Okla.
