Oklahoma City, Okla. -- Despite finishing in a tie for sixth and advancing to the Sooner Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament last year, the Mid-America Christian Baseball team has been picked to finish 10th in the SAC preseason poll, the league released today.

Defending regular season champion Oklahoma City was picked to repeat this season, but did not receive the most first-place votes.  That went to second-place Lubbock Christian, who got seven first-place tallies, compared to four for OCU.

Oklahoma Baptist and Rogers State were next, with USAO and Wayland Baptist finishing in a tie for fifth.

Oklahoma Christian was seventh, followed by Southern Nazarene, Northwestern Oklahoma State and MACU rounding out the top 10.  St. Gregory's concluded the 11-team poll.

MACU went 12-18 in the SAC last year, advancing to its first-ever conference tournament.

The Evangels will begin the 2012 season on the road at Dallas Christian on Feb. 3.
