Plainview, Texas -- The Wayland Baptist Pioneers exploded for 25 runs and cruised to a 25-0 win in the second game of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament Thursday evening (May 5) in Plainview, Texas.
After a scoreless first inning, Eddie Allen tripled home a pair of runs in a three-run second inning and then doubled home two more runs as the Pioneers scored seven times in the third for a 10-0 lead.
The Pioneers would score in each of the final six innings before the game was called due to the run-rule after seven.
Allen went 3-of-5 with four RBI, while Keven Hennessey homered with three runs driven in and Ben Christian also had three RBI.
WBU starter Kevin Burbank limited the Evangels to just four singles in the seven-inning shutout and struck out six.
The Evangels will conclude action in their first-ever appearance in the SAC tournament tomorrow evening (May 6) in Lubbock, Texas against No. 5-ranked Oklahoma Baptist, again at 6 p.m.
